The name Jah-Kee derives from both producers James Graham “Trig” and Kevin Gainer “DJ KG”. Jah (James) and Kee (Kevin). The two long time friends chased the dream of being in the industry in their youth and took on many projects that lead them on separate paths. Fast forward 20 years later the two reunited and though music wasn't the initial reunion it soon became a new journey the both would take on as they sought to develop a sound that was new and unlike the cyrrent stylings calling it “Ol New Skool” music.

A Florida native who has always been surrounded by musical influences, James began his journey in R&B groups, where he honed his strengths while refining his craft. The process of creating music—from its inception to its final delivery—continues to fuel his passion and inspire his unique approach. Now, for the first time, the former songwriter and artist steps into a new role as a producer. This transition has expanded his creative horizons, allowing him to explore endless possibilities. With a deep love for helping artists grow, James is dedicated to producing for both emerging and established talents, guiding them as they develop their careers.

Chief Operations Officer

Kevin Gainer, known to most as “DJ KG,” has always had a knack for creating music. Surrounded by influential musicians—his father, a drummer, and his mother and sisters, all singers—he naturally gravitated toward the turntables. From an early age, he began hosting parties, eventually becoming a featured DJ at many clubs on the scene. Now, DJ KG has expanded his passion into music production, using his talents to elevate artists’ careers to new heights.

Address the business first to prevent it from becoming an obstacle later. Many steps are required to reach the finish line, and having a clear understanding of the process helps alleviate stress when developing one’s sound. The goal is to be fair with everyone we work with—without exception—because integrity is paramount. Our work environment is team-oriented, fun, and family-driven. When working with Jah-Kee, you’ll be treated like family.

Jamalia

Chief Financial Officer

Jamalia began working with the duo for her debut single. What transpired was almost magical and solidified the purpose Jah-Kee was striving to achieve. In 2023, she became the Chief Financial Officer and an established partner of Jah-Kee Productions LLC. Not only a force in entertainment, but Jamalia is also well-established in the financial industry.

As a partner, I am the company, and Jah-Kee focuses on developing upcoming artists by assisting them with vocal recording, coaching, development, studio production, and a plethora of services designed to help artists achieve a successful start in their music careers. Our one-on-one approach gives each artist the opportunity to gain knowledge and expertise in recording, benefiting their careers long after our time together.

For me, the art of making music is transcendent, and I want to be there in those moments when dreamers begin tapping into their full potential. I believe in this company because I was its first client—a living testament to the benefits it offers aspiring artists.
